Fit by Sonic Celebrating Five Years RIP Claudia Fontaine well known backup singer Fit by Sonic 5th Birthday

Claudia Fontaine was a backing vocalist from Peckham, London and a good friend of Marina’s who support Fit by Sonic. She joined us for our 5th birthday as a special guest. Sadly we lost a good friend Claudia Fontaine in 2018.During the 1980s, Fontaine and fellow backing vocalist Caron Wheeler (and later, third member Naomi Thompson) were known as Afrodiziak. She made an appearance in the video “Back to Life (However Do You Want Me)” with Soul II Soul. She also performed with such artists as The Jam, Paul Weller, Elvis Costello and The Attractions, Marilyn, Madness, Neneh Cherry, The Specials, Heaven 17, Hothouse Flowers and Howard Jones. Fontaine sang background vocals on the hit single “Free Nelson Mandela” by The Special AKA. Fontaine was the lead vocalist on The Beatmasters’ hit single of 1989 “Warm Love”, which is included on their debut album Anywayawanna.

We continue to raise awareness for Perthes Disease – Olly

WE HAVE RAISED £4213.18 To help us support our members, help us raise awareness. The NHS are unable to cover this treatment. We continue to support Olly and his family. Olly’s Story Olly, a happy active, intelligent 11-year-old boy woke up one day and found himself struggling to walk. Perthes disease is a disorder of the hip in young children that usually occurs between the ages of 4 and 10. To help us celebrate Olly’s recovery and raise awareness for Pethies Disease – A portion of the proceeds from your classes will be Donated towards Perthes disease.
